Barden have been exclusively engaged by a large scale International Sports and Entertainment business to recruit a Finance Manager to help with their expansion in Europe.

The company is going through significant growth and as a result is building out operations in Ireland. The company recently appointed a high profile CFO to lead the Finance Function. This is a truly exciting opportunity for a driven person to join an exciting industry within a growing company.

This is a hands on Finance Manager position to support the day to day running of the finance function. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will have one direct report to assist with operational Finance. ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Lead month‑end close activities under IFRS, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare key monthly outputs, including management accounts, reconciliations, and variance analysis, along with commentary.
  • Partner with group finance to align with reporting standards, policies, and submission deadlines.
  • Oversee operational finance across AP/AR and expense reporting completed by the accounts assistant (direct report).
  • Partner with the Head of Finance and FP&A Manager on cashflow monitoring and project performance insights.
  • Support the rollout of enhanced financial controls, processes, and procedures.
  • Improve finance systems and operational workflows to strengthen efficiency and control.
  • Assist with tax compliance, including quarterly VAT preparation and liaison with external advisors.
  • Provide technical accounting input, including drafting documentation to support key judgements and treatments.
  • Act as the main contact for external auditors, managing requests and ensuring smooth, timely delivery of statutory accounts.

ABOUT THE PERSON

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent); audit experience helpful but not essential.
  • Strong grasp of IFRS/FRS 102, month‑end reporting, balance sheet control and transactional finance (AP, AR, expenses), with sound tax awareness across VAT and Corporation Tax.
  • Comfortable working hands‑on with finance systems, advanced Excel and reporting tools, able to manage competing priorities and take ownership in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Experience in start‑ups or high‑growth settings is an advantage, along with an interest in sports, events, entertainment or project‑driven businesses.

  • Experience with US GAAP and SAP is desirable;
  • Strong technical skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and different cultures;
